Our History
About Deerwood
Deerwood was established in June 1960 on land that was part of the original Skinner family business. The Skinners established a Florida corporation known as The Deerwood Club, Inc. to develop their vision of a gated community with unusually high standards. Their ideas have been perpetuated through deed restrictions and the formal documents we refer to as the Covenants and Restrictions.
Its residents, who purchased the community from the developer in August 1999, own Deerwood. The community consists of 977 residences, ranging from 5-acre estate homes to garden homes and townhouses. The governing body is Deerwood Improvement Association. Eleven residents are elected to staggered three-year terms on the Board of Directors, whose responsibility is to manage the development in accordance with the twenty-one separate Covenants and Restrictions.
If you need more information than found here, please feel free to contact the Community Association Manager.
We are a beautiful community for those who love to work and play. Come on in and make yourself at home!
