A forum for problem-solving
After the Court declared the Option Agreement void, the dispute over the $500,000 that DIA had paid the Club remained unresolved. In May 2026 both Boards announced a different path: a joint Task Force of three DIA appointees and three DCC appointees.
Three appointed by DIA and three appointed by DCC, serving as community problem-solvers rather than advocates for the organization that appointed them.
From its first meeting, to deliver a written recommendation to both Boards.
Both Boards committed to give the recommendation serious, good-faith consideration. The Boards decide.
Members were to sign non-disclosure agreements before participating.
How it was meant to work
- It drew on the model of the Club Improvement Advisory Committee that DIA and the Club ran together from 2021 through 2023 (the committee created in Section 2 of the Option Agreement).
- No more than one sitting DIA Board member could serve among DIA’s three representatives, and DIA’s representatives could not be DCC members.
- DIA invited residents to volunteer for its three seats. Appointments were to be made within 30 days, with the first meeting within 45 days.
- A joint public statement was to be issued after both Boards had reviewed the recommendation.
